FCCLT is currently working on solidifying a first project.

We don’t want to start too big, but we don’t want to start too small either. A few possibilities we are thinking about:

  • Partnering with a local non-profit housing developer to build a 1-3 unit building in one of Franklin County’s more urban locations

  • Taking on a donated building from a current owner who wants to create permanently affordable housing

  • Partnering with a housing coop who wants to create affordable housing

For any of these projects we will also need land! For that here’s what we are thinking:

  • Towns and individuals can donate land to FCCLT, which will ensure its donation becomes a permanent good for the community.

  • FCCLT can fundraise within the community to buy a piece of land, taking it off the speculative market permanently.

  • FCCLT can acquire grants to buy a piece of land, again taking it off the speculative market permanently.

We’re working on other things too!

We’re currently planning and hosting community events around the topics of housing and land. We’re also also talking, stratagizing, and dreaming with other community land and housing-related organizations around the Connecticut river valley and beyond about growing our communities’ self-determination and stability.

If you would like to be a part of any of this, get in touch with us and you can get involved!
